Which oil press for which seed

Groundnut, mustard, sesame, coconut, sunflower, soybean: the press that suits each, by the numbers.

Seed by seed

Built from our own specification sheets: a machine is listed under a seed only where its datasheet names that seed.

Groundnut (peanut, moongfali · grown in Gujarat, AP, TN)

Sesame (til, gingelly · grown in TN, WB, MP)

Coconut (copra, nariyal · grown in TN, Kerala, Karnataka)

Mustard (sarson, rai · grown in UP, Rajasthan, MP, Haryana)

Sunflower (surajmukhi · grown in Karnataka, Maharashtra)

Castor (arandi · grown in Gujarat)

Almond (badam · grown in processing)

Flaxseed (alsi, linseed · grown in MP, UP)

Niger (ramtil · grown in MP, Odisha)

Soybean (soya · grown in MP, Maharashtra)

How to read the capacities

Every capacity on this site is given in kilograms of seed per hour and, where the sheet allows, converted to tonnes per day on a 24-hour run and tonnes per 8-hour shift. Yield in oil depends on the seed, its moisture and the press, so treat the seed figure as the sizing number and ask the works for expected oil yield on your own stock.

Single or three phase

Motors above about 3 HP are normally three phase. If the site has only single phase, say so in the quote request; several models are built for it.

One seed or many

Cold press and rotary presses change between seeds with a clean-out. Wooden ghani presses are usually run on one seed at a time for flavour.
